Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is not only known for his business ventures but also for his growing family. Musk has 12 known children with three different women, and his personal life has been a topic of public interest.

Musk’s first six children were with his first wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson. Their first son, Nevada Alexander Musk, was born in 2002 but tragically passed away at 10 weeks old due to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). In 2004, the couple welcomed twins, Griffin Musk and Vivian Jenna Wilson. Vivian, who is transgender, legally changed her name and distanced herself from Musk. In 2006, Wilson gave birth to triplets: Kai Musk, Saxon Musk, and Damian Musk. All five surviving children were conceived through IVF.

After his divorce from Wilson in 2008, Musk later had three children with musician Grimes (Claire Boucher). Their first child, X Æ A-Xii Musk, commonly known as “X,” was born in May 2020. In December 2021, the couple welcomed a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk (nicknamed “Y”) via surrogate. Their third child, Techno Mechanicus Musk, also called “Tau,” was born at an undisclosed date.

In November 2021, Musk quietly fathered twins with Shivon Zilis, a top executive at Neuralink. The twins, Strider Musk and Azure Musk, were born just weeks before his daughter with Grimes. Their births remained secret until a court document revealed Musk’s petition to have them carry his last name.

Despite his busy career, Musk has often spoken about the importance of having children and growing his family. He has expressed concerns about declining birth rates and has said he is committed to ensuring the survival of humanity. However, his relationships with some of his children, particularly Vivian, remain strained.

Musk’s unconventional approach to parenting, combined with his high-profile status, continues to make his personal life a subject of public curiosity. While he remains private about some of his children, his growing family reflects both his personal beliefs and his complex relationships.
